Photographer in Residence

In 2018, I was asked by the Headmaster to become the school’s Photographer in Residence which was a huge honor. Since then, I have been lucky enough to gain a unique and privileged access to the richly diverse lives of the boys and staff here at Eton, not just at the school but also in the wider community.

There have been both highs and lows (more highs I’m pleased to say!) but the photos that I take have always tried to give an accurate representation of life at Eton, the emotions of the boys and the spirit of the school.

I am very lucky to do what I do and I love being able to document a short period of time in the boys’ lives from when they arrive at Eton at the end of the Summer as hesitant, inquisitive and – in some cases – shy 11 year olds through to the time they leave 5 years later as confident, assured and rounded young men ready to take on the next challenge in their lives. The change is remarkable.

I hope you enjoy looking through these photos. Moments in time that happen in the blink of an eye, moments that are gone too soon. I hope I can help you capture the memories while your son is at Eton.

These Eton days are unique and cherished and well worth immortalising with photography. I love this quote by American photographer Aaron Siskind, “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
